It’s rare that I can look back at a weekend and say it was perfect from start to finish. However, this past weekend was indeed perfect and filled with lots of laughter, love and friendship. I was in Los Angeles to celebrate the wedding of a very dear friend. Friday was my 36th birthday. I’m grateful to my high school and college friends for coming out to celebrate with me at Suite 700 on the rooftop of Hotel Shangri-La in Santa Monica. It was so nice to reminisce about our past and ponder aloud our futures. Happy birthday to me.
On Saturday, my friend Reena and her fiance, Adam got married. Check out the breathtaking waterfront view of their ceremony at the Point Vicente Interpretative Center in Rancho Palos Verde. It doesn’t get any more beautiful than this.
As I head home, I can’t help but feel the familiar pangs of joy and longing that arise upon every trip to Los Angeles. Although I live in Washington DC, it isn’t home. It never will be. Change is in the air.
